Open VPX is a set of rules that ensures different VPX components can work together in a system, even if they’re from different manufacturers.
The Open VPX rules specify how different parts of a system (like modules and backplanes) should interact. It also suggests (but doesn’t require) the use of certain development systems to help with the evaluation and development of VPX systems. As new standards emerge, Open VPX will adapt to include them.
